Life Change is Coming
14 Jul, 2026
Please enjoy this short mini-blog because I have things I want to say but not the patience to craft more profound analysises. It’s also my website and I can do whatever I want.
I got my hair cut recently. It’s maybe…7 or 8 inches shorter? I finally got a wolf cut, which is something I’ve wanted since middle school, but have been too scared to commit to short hair. Until now, I suppose. Although I do have to put a little more effort into styling it, I’m really pleased with how it looks and it brings me a lot of joy.
I’ve also had a lot of fun giving this website some more personality and adding more pages about my interests. I am far from proficient in CSS/HTML, and I am (quite frankly) scared of javascript, but I know more than I did a month ago and I think there’s merit in that. Should you choose to explore, I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend doing so on a computer because you’ll be able to see the backgrounds fully and some of the new pages are not yet optimized for mobile.
This July I am practicing a funny thing called “optimism” because I have realized that it is lacking in my life. There is no concrete plan; it is more of a vibe that I have decided to take on. This is very out of character for someone who uses her calendar app and planner religiously, but I think that this temporary shift in methodology will be beneficial for me. I’m thinking of it as exposure therapy to change. In the spirit of my endeavors, here is a (truncated) list of things I have encountered recently that I consider to be good omens:
- Reading Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist. I want to make a more in-depth blog post about this eventually, after it’s had some more time to marinate in my brain.
- Getting rain this week and the temperature cooling down so I can go outside during the day without drowning in sweat.
