Bits & Pieces

Another mini-blog! Wahoo!

I went on vacation to the beach and it was very pleasant. It was a good opportunity to reset my brain before school starts back up again. I’ve always been a big fan of the ocean for as long as I can remember, for a reason I cannot quite explain. I think that there is something so mesmerizing about how it is equal parts tranquil and violent.

OUR FAMILY FRIENDS TAUGHT US HOW TO PLAY MAHJONG ON VACATION AND IT’S REALLY ENTERTAINING ACTUALLY. I’M REALLY BAD BUT I DON’T CARE I’M HAVING FUN.

This summer was unfavorable for various reasons that I would prefer not to delve into, but I am trying my best to frame it in a more positive manner. I went outside a ton and did lots of journaling (albeit to varying effectiveness). As a byproduct of my copious amounts of free time, this website and blog was revived. I have some fun-ish things lined up in the next few weeks, so I suppose there’s that to enjoy. Recently, I’ve slowly been chipping away at college applications and I think I’ve developed imposter syndrome because I feel incredibly underqualified to be making major life decisions and just anxious in general. Everything suddenly feels very adultish. I don’t think I’m ready for that yet. I am terrified of the idea that my actions will have real consequences. Even though I know that these feelings are probably normal, incessant and unnecessary worrying tends to be a habit of mine. Regardless, I try to remain hopeful that everything is going to work itself out in the end.

I’m tired of opening Instagram and seeing someone flex their summer job/internship/life as a productive member of society. I haven’t mustered up the willpower to delete the app entirely, but my use of the app overall has declined some amount in the past few weeks. I am taking this to be a sign of self-improvement.

I recently stumbled on this music playlist channel on YouTube that I just so happen to share a name with. I’ve been listening to more music on YouTube lately because the ad to music ratio is a lot less compared to Spotify (I can’t be bothered to pay for a premium subscription) and it’s allowed me to discover lots of new music as well.

I added a page to keep track of all the good omens that I encounter.

My new favorite breakfast food is greek yogurt + chia seeds + mango + dried coconut + honey. Absolutely heavenly. I am considering adding a page to catalogue all my yogurt bowls haha.
